New Features and Issues Solved in Hotfix 86457 (for SIMbox Version 5.6)

New Capabilities

• LMS
  Added support for Adobe Captivate ICW
  • Adobe Captivate SCORM courseware does not support working from the local drive.
    We have developed an internal local internet server that will route these courseware’s as they are being loaded over the network (HTTP).
  • Adobe Captivate does not support the use of caching for the flash objects.
    We have dynamically modified the captivate ICW pages during the import process so they will not utilize cache mechanism.
  • Notes:
    • Due to the fact that the cache mechanism is not active, these items will have to be download from the server every time they are launched. This might have impact on the loading time of these courseware’s.
    • Existing Captivate SCORM items will have to be re-imported to the LMS so they will be modified.

  • Agent Editor: 'Find & Replace' feature was added

Performance Improvements

• LMS
  Major performance improvements in the LMS:
  • Tremendously reduced login time. The sync is now being processed in a separated background thread.
  • Improved loading time of the subject tree in the Knowledge Center
  • Improved permissions caching time
  • Improved loading time when browsing the LMS centers
  • Improved closing time of sessions and LMS items in sessions, when working on a low bandwidth.

Resolved Bugs

• Simulation
  • Improved the performance of multiple active agents
  • Simulation.exe no longer freezes when creating a new session
  • Fixed an issue with console switches malfunction when clicked while simulation window is out of focus
  • Fixed an issue where cyclic steps will not stop when passing over to another phase
• LMS
  • LMS windows in agents are now opened even when client is offline
  • Fixed the ability to open hyperlinks from the Brief page, when the session is checked-in and the server name contains dots.

Known Issues

• Domains
  • Adding a user to a domain -> the domain will be displayed in tools -> options only after the second sync
  • Update a domain before first Sync ended -> The default domain will be added to the server and all the clients connected to that server
• Knowledge Center
  • 'Modified By' isn't sync'd in the first login to a clean system
  • Check out a session with an agent -> remove the agent from the session -> check in and check out the session -> open the session in SE -> open the agent -> save -> Session cannot be checked in
  • Checking out an item causes it to disappear from preview pane – Occurs with specific items only
• Permissions
  • User with 'Report Browsing' Permissions is granted 'Report Editing' permissions while he is logged in -> the user won't be able to create a report/feedback till he logs out and login again
  • Deny a user of all content permissions -> the user can still see all items in Knowledge Center
  • Login to the system as a user 'A' with all content permissions -> login to a different client and deny user 'A' of all content permissions -> sync -> grant user 'A' all content permissions -> sync -> User 'A' can't create new item until logging out and in again
• Performance
  • When working with low bandwidth – Cannot Check in item when the server connected to another server in Master-slave configuration
• Keywords
  • We shouldn't allow adding a space as a keyword
• Account Center
  • Preview Pane of Users -> Deleted groups are shown in the "Member of" of accounts
