The new SIMbox Mesh Exporter version 1.2.0.0 contains the following improvements:
- The Mesh Exporter supports Autodesk 3ds Max version 2010, 2011, 2012 with 32 and 64 bit.
- New interface – instead of a toolbar button, the exporter now has its own menu in the main application menu bar.
- Exporter can now export either to a folder of the user’s choice or to the current folder with a one-click process.
- When exporting an already-unified scene, the exporter correctly recognizes and outputs the already-unified object to mesh instead of attempting to unify the scene again.
- Exporter can handle scenes with multiple materials or with no materials at all.
- Animation is retained when the "Unify" button pressed.
- Groups are supported.
- Instead of bones, the "Unify" button produces easy-to-handle skeleton controllers in the shape of a bounding box.
- Exporter ignores existence of non-exportable objects instead of halting.
- Exporter can now handle geometry nodes other than editable poly or mesh, such as primitives or compound objects.
- Exporter now attempts to fix objects with negative scale.
- Exporter removes spaces in material names to make them compatible with simulation.
- Exporter removes spaces in file names to make them compatible with simulation.
- Exporter detects duplicate object names and renames the duplicates to prevent conflict.
- Numerous other bug fixes.
